Course Description

This course is designed for adults and young adults who wish to improve their skills and strategies for the IELTS examination. Participants will focus and fine tune language skills tested on the IELTS exam, enabling them to effectively achieve their full potential for the IELTS exam. The course content will deal with authentic practice tests and practice materials which develop the candidates speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.

You Will Learn To

Entry Requirements

  • Be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Sit a pre-course assessment test and achieve an Intermediate level and above

  • 2.Speaking Skills - Features of Cohesive and Coherent language, Relative clauses, Discourse markers, Discussing abstract topics, Comparing and contrasting, Supporting a view
  • 3.Reading Skills - Pre-reading questions, Predicting strategies, Skim reading strategies, Scan reading strategies, Reading for detail, Following a sequence of events, Recognizing the structure of a passage, Identifying main and supporting ideas in paragraphs
  • 4.Writing Skills - Understanding the task, Describing trends, Describing a process, Making comparisons, Structuring a report/paragraph building, Features of Cohesive and Coherent writing, Using the passive, Studying sample reports, Brainstorming and forming ideas, Emphatic language, Analysing the question, Pre-writing
