Course Description

Occupational health and safety is becoming increasingly important in this region as employers recognize the efficiency and productivity gains associated with sound health and safety practices. This course will introduce delegates to the essentials of health and safety risk awareness in the workplace. This course is ideal for people from a variety of industries who want to learn how to implement world class health and safety policies and procedures in their workplace.

You Will Learn To

  • Prevent hazards by reporting and following procedures

Entry Requirements

  • Current level of English language skills must ensure easy communication and understanding of the information

  • Current level of English language skills will need to be assessed

  • Be a minimum of 18 years old

  • Understanding the main accident areas:
    - Slips and trips
    - Working from heights
    - Safe operation of machinery

  • Understand and manage your own responsibility in the workplace

  • Availability and use of PPE and signage

  • Reporting and recording unsafe conditions

  • Reporting and recording accidents

  • Legislation, regulations and codes of practice

  • Company policies and procedures

  • Writing a personal risk assessment management policy
