Chairman's Message
Dear Friends,
We face challenging times in the region through rapid growth and change. Abu Dhabi University was conceived to meet some of these demands by offering new types of degree programs suitable for the new knowledge culture. I am delighted to announce our latest venture, the launch of the Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG) as an extension to the contribution of Abu Dhabi University (ADU). ADUKG is a growing group of leading edge Institutes and organizations created to meet specific needs and opportunities in the UAE.
Universities exist to create knowledge and wealth for the whole community. By conducting research, accumulating knowledge and then sharing that knowledge with the whole community, a good university will become a key generator of wealth by developing citizens, organizations, technology and innovation centers to support economic and social development. Our plans for Abu Dhabi University place high value on the traditional role of the university as the source of new knowledge for a growing community and include new centers of excellence linked to a successful business park linked to the University.
But this is not the whole story. As Chairman of the University, I listen to my colleagues across the UAE and know that organizations and individuals right across Society can benefit from practical help and support that requires a different sort of expertise. Entrepreneurs and new businesses need experienced practitioners to help them grow; employers need people with specific skills to improve their competitiveness. Government needs innovative solutions to equip the workforce for the future. The Knowledge Group contains new organizations to meet those needs – executive development, vocational or work skills development and continuing education.
Using their autonomy to generate synergy, ADU and ADUKG can capture global knowledge and local expertise to provide unique answers for many of the issues facing us in the region. We believe this combination provides a unique and unrivalled single source for education, training and development solutions.
Through the combined skills of ADU and ADUKG we are committed to:
