ABU DHABI UNIVERSITY KNOWLEDGE GROUP GAINS ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATION

 

Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG) has been awarded with  the ISO 9001:2008 certification as a recognition for the performance of the group divisions and departments in implementing practices that are ISO certified as well as the their ongoing dedication to improvement.   Mr. Rasheed Bin Shakroun, Acting CEO,  ADU received the certificate from Mr. Basem Obaid, MEA Manager for Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd (LRQA)  LRQA, during an official ceremony held on the university campus.   Bin Shakroun said that a strategic part of ADU’s plan was to support the government’s long-term plan for the Emirate’s economy by building a world class education sector that feeds back into the economy and aids social development.   “The group aims to rehabilitate Emirati work force specialised in different areas of highly qualified scientific and applied research to support the national march in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as well as to meet the needs of the UAE. Our objective is to contribute a significant number of national workforce to the labour market’s innovative and important positions. This reflects in the Abu Dhabi 2030 Economic Vision, one of leading strategies of development in the region aimed at building the government of Abu Dhabi to the ranks of the best five governments in the world   “The knowledge group is committed to design, provision and delivery of best practise solutions as well as bringing commercial benefits to the region. The achievement of this standard will ensure we are able to maintain our high standards.” Bin Shakroun added

Furthermore, Mr. Obaid said; “LRQA is pleased to award the ISO 9001:2008 certificate to ADUKG. This achievement shows the commitment of ADUKG towards its customers and continual improvement.”   “ISO 9001: 2008 is now recognised in over 170 countries worldwide. By assessing an organisations ‘quality management system' this standard examines the organisations ability to satisfy its customers requirements - using criteria such as customer focus, leadership, the involvement of people, processes, systems, continual improvement, decision making and supplier relationships,” he added.   “Part of Lloyd’s Register Group which was founded in 1760, LRQA is the leading certification body for the ISO series of Quality Management Systems”, Obaid concluded.
