EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT INDUSTRY RECEIVES TRAINING FROM ABU DHABI UNIVERSITY KNOWLEDGE GROUP
GROUP AND ASSETCO TURN ALLIES IN PROVIDING QUALITY VOCATION FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL

 

The Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG), the professional training and development arm of Abu Dhabi University (ADU), and the AssetCo UAE, a leader in the field of Delivering fire and rescue service, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to better address the challenges facing recruitment, assessment and training of fire-fighters in the country.

 

Catering to the UAE’s need for specialists in Fire and Rescue Services, the main objective of the alliance is the achievement of national and international accreditation from the required qualifications, and to equip emergency services personnel with executive and vocational experience in the field.

Together, ADUKG and AssetCo are to develop an integrated approach on disaster and emergency management, as well as to cooperate in support of other national initiatives in the field of Fire and Rescue provision. ADUKG and AssetCo will design and develop qualifications, national guidelines and vocational standards, as well as participate in conferences and events relevant to the disaster and emergency management arena.

Commenting on the alliance, Rachid Benchekroun, Acting CEO, ADUKG, said: “Our focus on providing executive courses and vocational programs in this area stems from our determination to increase the standards of emergency management services in the country and contribute towards the overall safety of our community.

“In turn, this partnership brings us closer to fulfilling the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, by providing our graduates with the skills and qualification, as well as practical experience towards paving their own unique career paths.”

The MoU serves as a platform committed on recruiting and training the local Emirati population and creating a career path in the Fire and Rescue Services. The Institute for Vocational Development (IVD), a member of ADUKG, will offer practical training programmes in the field of Fire and Rescue Services.


Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive of AssetCo John Shannon, expressed his delight in becoming a partner to ADUKG
