Summer Challenge Program 2009 [Almost 2000 High School students enrolled on ICDL and English Language course]

In 2009, ADUKG’s Institute for Continuing Studies (ICS) and Business Support Services Team (BSST) hosted just under 2000 Emirati and expat high school students at its Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses as part of the Abu Dhabi Education Council’s (ADEC) Summer Challenge Program.

HE Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Director General of ADEC, described the program in this way: “Summer Challenge is about improving learning outcomes and providing a variety of positive learning experiences for senior students that improve their knowledge, skills and attitudes in key subject areas.” In recognition of the excellent working relationship between ADEC and ADUKG, he said “We work in cooperation because together we can make a real difference to education in the Emirate. Summer Challenge is a good example where cooperation between us has very positive outcomes for our students.”

Director of ICS Dave McHardy remarked “We have recruited instructors from around the world to provide students with unique five-week programs in English and Information Technology. The programs are interactive and innovative and offer participants an excellent blend of learning and fun.”
