DCS – “Reskilling a traditional workforce for the modern economy” [Over 900 Civil Servants enrolled on professional development programs]
As part of the Emirates Strategic Plan for the restructuring and privatization of the public sector, more than 1000 public servants needed to be re-skilled and equipped to take on new roles at work.
The Institute for Enterprise Development (IED) was able to use experience taken from other countries to design an integrated re-skilling program with business English, IT skills, management and vocational training. IED assembled international partners to introduce new work-based programs to the region.
Over 1000 civil servants have benefited from the scheme and are working towards gaining internationally-recognized certificates from key awarding bodies like the Chartered Management Institute and edexcel.
