FMT - “Equipping the UAE Armed Forces with state of the art medical skills for the battlefield” [Over 6500 army personnel trained]

Filed Medical Training Program is designed to train UAE Armed Forces Personnel of all ranks, in the techniques and procedures of first aid and the skills of saving life and limb in peace time and in war time. The training of medical services personnel on basic and advanced medical skills will be based on recent medical and technical methodology and taught to the standards of the modern medicine.

FMT aims are: Train Armed forces personnel of all ranks, on the best techniques of first aid and the measures of saving life or limb in the field to standards of modern warfare, certify and re-certify DMS personnel including physicians and nurses to acquire and refresh the skills of modern military medicine and to train and qualify special operations core on life saving technique in the field and the technique and skills required for management of mass casualty incidents.

Importance of FMT comes from the followings:

  • The need to deal with field injuries to save life and limb and return the soldier to duty as soon as possible
  • The need to manage mass casualty incidents
  • The need to maintain filed medical skills and medical services personnel
  • Joint operations with friendly forces
  • The role of UAE Armed forces in out of country mission and operations
  • International humanitarian missions

Target of training include, multiple organizations and unit of armed forces, directorate of medical services personnel and special operations headquarters personnel
