Police – “Providing the Abu Dhabi traffic police with communication skills for a multicultural society” [Developing over 1500 police officers]

As Abu Dhabi becomes one of the premier tourist locations in the world, and the residents continue to become even more diverse in their cultural origins, the traffic police of Abu Dhabi realized the necessity for their Force to further enhance their communication skills to provide world-class customer service to their many varied stakeholders.

The Institute of Continuing Studies (ICS) at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) was in an ideal position to provide a fully customised language and communication skills program, delivered for each group within a two week intensive period, drawing from actual on-the-job requirements and competencies.

Exceptional teachers and a unique team of materials developers created an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course to allow the Traffic Police of Abu Dhabi to support the development of Abu Dhabi with increased confidence and ability.
